When Missing Loved Ones Becomes a Lifestyle

The only place he e'er declined to move was Utah. That'south considering no one in their correct heed agrees to motility to Utah. (Hey, no offense.)
Growing up, I missed friends, neighbors, and classmates beyond six states. Relationships were temporary. Living hundreds of miles from relatives, we visited them in one case or twice a year. For vii years, my dad worked 2nd shift so he could climb that corporate ladder; ofttimes I missed him, too.
When I attended college, naturally it was out-of-land. Then, I landed a corporate job much like his and connected the nomadic lifestyle of corporate relocations and missing people.
One time I became a parent, even so, I sought to ensure that my own daughter didn't grow up missing people she loved. I wanted to requite her the gift of beingness "from" somewhere. I wanted to requite her the gift of non continually feeling loss or separation from all that was familiar.

"Tears in Heaven" and others are so poignant. The songs that touched my heart after losing loved ones may not even have been ones like this, simply ones that we used to sing together or had other meanings. Time does heal the initial hurting of losing loved ones, hard as that is to believe when we first lose loved ones.
As to your daughter, having a abode base of operations and long-lasting friendships, she is fortunate. Some families have no option in the matter. I am thinking of war machine families, those who serve as diplomats, etc.

I met my soulmate while living in Europe every bit a teenager. We'd spend ours days dreaming virtually a future together. Just, her family abruptly left the country and disappeared. The twenty-four hours I watched her board the plane crying is among the worst days of my life.
We knew nosotros'd probably never run into each other again and promised to always remember, and find each other in the side by side life.
In the years since, I've searched, just never found whatsoever trace of her.
And, while my life went on, I've never forgotten her.
The song that always makes me cease and think about her and what could have been is "Who Wants to Live Forever" by Queen. Like in the song, we just weren't fated to be together. But, we had our one sweet moment - our forever.

Some nice writing and some good tunes.
The juxtaposition of songs about real, raw actual emotion to some of the made up nonsense apropos "micro-aggressions" on college campuses today is startling. We used to employ things like music to cope with feet and depression. Then we moved to drugging virtually a whole society and at present nosotros are kickoff to run across a generation that act as if they are then fragile you tin can't even enquire where they were built-in for fear of hurting their feelings.
