HESI A2 Exam is the nursing entrance exam administered by the Office of Testing Services on behalf of the College of Nursing at Prairie View A&M University. Potential applications to the Nursing program may not take or retake the exam anywhere other than the approved Prometric locations and/or with the Testing Services office.

• All testers must register and pay for testing online.
• Test Administration Fees
  • $70 – payment must be received before processing of registration forms can be completed.
• Main Campus Testing Note: No walk-ins allowed, as seating is limited. Once all test dates are closed, students will need to register for distance or virtual testing.

• All testers must bring Evolve Username and Password with them for testing
• All testers must have an active Evolve account and bring a physical photo identification for testing. Photo Identification must be current (or have expired within 90 days of the test date) and must contain a recent and recognizable photo of you:
  • Driver's License
  • Passport book or card
  • State-issued ID card
  • US Military ID Card (Common Access Card or CAC)
  • US Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
  • PVAMU Student ID Card
• Testers will have four (4) hours to complete the exam
• Exam consists of four (4) sections

Anatomy and Physiology	75%
Grammar	75%
Math	75%
Reading Comprehension	75%

• Exam results are valid for two (2) years from the date of testing.
• The College of Nursing does not accept students who have taken the HESI more than 2 timeswithout earning the passing score of 75% in Reading, Grammar, Math, and Anatomy & Physiology. Critical Thinking is also required (no minimum score).
• Students are allowed to take the HESI A2 two times at any school or authorized location. The second attemptmust be at least 30 days after the initial exam. Prairie View Nursingwill not consider HESI A2 scores if:

The student has taken the exam more than two times, regardless of where
OR
Scores are older than two years – students may retest once if the exam scores were 75% or higher after testing once or twice.

Main Campus

• The registration form for Main Campus testing will open on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 10 am .
• Test dates for Main Campus testing will be held on selected Tuesdays and will be posted on October 18, 2022 as well.

Exam is administer on selected dates at the PVAMU Main Campus in Prairie View, Texas. Youmust register and payprior to your arrival for testing.No walk-ins are allowed. Seating is limited.

Virtual

• The registration form for Virtual Testing will open on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 10 am .
• Test dates for Virtual testing will be held on selected Fridays will be posted on October 18, 2022 as well.

Virtual

Virtual testing allows testers to take the HESI A2 exam at home as long as students meet and adhere to the Virtual Testing Requirements. Students register and pay the exam fee with the Office of Testing Services. In addition, ProctorU charges a $30 proctoring fee to administer the test, which is separate from the exam fee paid to the Office of Testing Services.

• Information for Distance testing will be posted on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 10 am .

Distance

Distance Testing allows students to take the HESI A2 exam with Prometric either in-person or remotely. Students should review and follow the instructions outline in the "How to Sign Up for HESI Distance Testing with a Prometric Site". All test fees for the exam are paid directly to Prometric. To receive test accommodations for Distance Testing, students must apply through their Evolve account and follow the instructions for submitting their request and supporting documentation to Evolve (Elsevier).
